Jurgen Klopp states rejoining to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is an option. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign that included continental glory and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, now holds roles in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would welcome the notion that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I said I will never coach another team on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, which suggests the choice could be mine later on, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I can just see what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to bring him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he isn't eager for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing during downpours through long matches; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or constant media duties weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, however, dining out with the players enjoying conversation, is pleasant. We won a lot of games meaning regularly great spirits at the club. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He spoke highly of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the tweaks that won the league in the previous season. The team has suffered four consecutive matches across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the notion it could be a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, along with the consequences on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a car crash with his brother in July.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. No one within the club might employ it for poor performances yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Impossible.”
