New information has come to light concerning the untimely passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
