Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
